Spanish Riding School - Performance

THE WORLD FAMOUS SHOWS The Lipizzaner – the Ballet of the White Stallions – take place in the, under Charles VI. built, unique baroque winter riding school in the Hofburg. These demonstrations are the result of many years of training and intensive work by the riders and their Lipizzaners. The stormy
Young stallions enchant the audience as well as the already fully trained school stallions, who show themselves in the school quadrille, in the schools on and above ground, in the pas de deux and on the long rein.
Lipizzaners are intelligent and lively horses whose physique and grace make them particularly suitable for high school riding. They are the oldest cultivated horse breed in Europe. The continuation of their traditional breeding as well as the practice and preservation of the high school of classical horsemanship are among the core tasks of the Spanish Riding School and the Lipizzaner Stud Piber.

With the support of the multimedia artist André Heller, a particularly atmospheric lighting concept was developed for the demonstrations in what is probably the most beautiful riding hall in the world. In this atmosphere, enjoy the wonderful performance of the riders and
their Lipizzaners, accompanied by classical Viennese music!

Duration of the gala performance (moderated live): approx. 90 minutes
