Opera in three acts, in German, with Hungarian and English surtitles
"For the sake of my most beautiful life dream "Young Siegfried" I have to finish the "Nibelungen" pieces; the "Valkyrie" took me so much that I have to indulge in this pleasure; I got to the second half of the last act. […] Having never felt the true bliss of love in my life, I must erect a memorial to the most beautiful of all my dreams, in which that love shall be fully satisfied from beginning to end,” Wagner wrote to Franz Liszt in 1854. The work was first performed in Bayreuth in August 1876, when the entire tetralogy was premiered. 140 years later, the next installment of Géza M. Tóth's new production of the Ring cycle returns to the opera's program to tell the story of the hero who knows no fear.
