Mozart's "The Magic Flute" is a collective cultural heritage and the most-performed opera of all. It combines magic fairy tales and educational novels, Masonic symbolism and the tradition of the Viennese suburban theater from the 18th century. It is enigmatic and contradictory, and that is its quality. At the Vienna Volksoper, Mozart's universal work is a fixed star in the repertoire.

In a production created for the whole family by the French director and costume designer Laurent Pelly, this work will be shown for the first time at the Vienna Volksoper. "Set the stage free!" is the motto for the Junge Volksoper, because the stars of this production are the children's choir and the youth choir as well as the opera studio - i.e. the youngest members of our ensemble!
