In In The Middle, Somewhat Elevated, William Forsythe brings classical ballet into the present with eccentric coolness in a breathtakingly virtuoso manner. In the dazzling, festive ensemble work Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet, George Balanchine shows a highly musical, fascinatingly dynamic neoclassicism in the spirit of Marius Petipa.
