Hermann und Dorothea - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Hermann und Dorothea
Goethe's epic poem Hermann and Dorothea, like his tragedy Iphigenia in Tauris, is about refugees who have been driven abroad by war. The residents of a small town are confronted with a large group of people who have come to them while fleeing the revolutionary wars. Hermann, the son of the local innkeeper, meets an extraordinary young woman among the refugees and has an experience that transforms the young man to his core.
