Far removed from a whimsical story of German mythological heroes, Richard Wagner's monumental-romantic Ring tetralogy is about economic, social and ecological changes and about the crisis of values of the last two hundred years, which extends to the present day. This is particularly important for director Géza M. Tóth, who, after his productions of “Das Rheingold”, “Die Walküre” and “Siegfried”, will conclude his direction of the tetralogy with “Götterdämmerung” in the 2021/2022 season. As in the three previous parts, the fundamental visual component of Götterdämmerung's theatrical universe is the spectacle, which moves in sync with and dialogues with the music, enveloping the entire stage and imparting a special sense of space.
