Dramma Giocoso in two acts
No woman is capable of loyalty - certainly not your own! This is the beginning of a bet proposed by the affectionate Don Alfonso to the two youthful hotheads Ferrando and Guglielmo. The men are ready to prove the opposite and pretend to their two lovers, the sisters Dorabella and Fiordiligi, to have to go to war at short notice and on orders from the top. Dressed up, they return and court each other. At first the ladies steadfastly reject the gentlemen, but the advice of the open-hearted Despina seriously shakes the principles of the two.
