Ballet: The Nutcracker - A Christmas Carol - Schedule, Program & Tickets
Ballet: The Nutcracker - A Christmas Carol
Approximate duration: 2 hours, 1 break 20 minutes
Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker is one of the fixed stars of the classical repertoire of ballet ensembles. Since its premiere in 1892, it has undergone many changes in both dramaturgical and choreographic conception, but its popularity among children and adults is steadily growing.
The Hungarian choreographer and former director of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Youri Vàmos, was inspired by Charles Dickens' fairy tales and presented a new scenic version of this ballet. Set in 19th-century London, the story tells of the magic of Christmas that transforms human character.
This performance will certainly further enrich the festive Christmas spirit and will be a nice gift not only for the youngest viewers.
